DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
In
March 2005, Teachers Across Borders, Inc. donated $500 to Una Luz en el Camino in the Aguas Negros barrio
of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The school educates 200 children
grades K-1.
The students attending this school are from 5-12 years of age and would
not otherwise be
able to receive an education due to distance and lack
of educational facilities in this area of Dominican Republic. Teachers are mostly volunteer or sometimes receive $30 a month. The
Teachers Across Borders, Inc. donation provided breakfast
snacks for children many of whom arrive at school hungry, and for school
materials and equipment.
The school is in need of continuing support. If you wish to make a
contribution, please specify how you would like the funds to be used.
The needs of this school are ilongterm.
Please make your generous donation to this worthy
project.
